I decided to create a movie poster using
Big Huge Labs. It was rather easy. It took me several edits to decide which font and colors work the best on the picture I chose. It was very fun to create, and I can see how using these tools can be addictive! Here is the movie poster I created about my boyfriend and me:

I can definitely see using these tools with students. It would provide a fun way to take what they are learning and make it into a visual. Students could take a story they are reading and make a movie poster advertising the main characters and the scenes they thought were key. They could also make one for a story they wrote themselves. Geometry students could develop a mosaic of certain polygons or geometric figures they find in the real-world.
I think sharing photos is great, as long as there is a way to keep them protected and have privacy as needed. For instance, I wouldn't want everyone on the web to have access to family photos.
